Having recently started allowing prospective MBA students to cancel unwanted GMAT exam scores while still at the test center, GMAC is now launching another convenience-boosting initiative.

Starting with the 2015 edition, the official GMAT study guide, produced by GMAC since 1978, is to be supplemented with a new series of online content and videos, as well as a study tool which affords access to almost 1,000 past GMAT exam questions, which candidates can customize into sets of their choosing.

The upgrade is designed to make GMAT study, “easier and more flexible,” according to GMAC vice president of product management, Ashok Sarathy.

GMAC’s new study tool allows customization

Perhaps the most interesting online feature in the upgraded GMAT study guide series is the study tool, which allows mock tests to be created based on question format and difficulty level, allowing prospective MBA students to make more efficient use of their time in preparing for the GMAT exam.

As operators of the GMAT exam, GMAC has a vast library of past questions at their disposal. Improving access to these resources is likely to prove popular among prospective MBA students.

Striving to aid prospective MBA students’ preparation process

“We constantly strive to make the preparation process easier for the exam takers. These new additions made to the guide allow us to share more material with our readers,” Sarathy said in a press release.

The official GMAT study guide’s 2015 series, including companion guides that are sold separately for the quantitative and verbal sections of the GMAT exam, are to be released by GMAC this month in partnership with academic publishers Wiley.

In announcing the publication partnership’s plans to release new editions of the GMAT study guide each year, Vikas Gupta, managing director of Wiley India, acknowledged the appeal to prospective MBA students, noting that more than one million copies had been sold worldwide to date.
